Expanding external memory space in a Texas Instruments TMS320C6201digital signal processor (DSP) system by using synchronized dynamic RAM (SDRAM) is introduced in the paper. It also describes particularly Interfacing external SDRAM to the EMIF (External Memory Interface), and the configuration program is given. In addition, a specific example is provided using IS 42SI6400 SDRAM to design high-speed mass storage in certain digital signal processing system.
